Soroptimist International of Saratoga County (SISC) is a service organization of business and professional women committed to enhancing the quality of life for women and girls in Saratoga County, as well as the nation and the world. It is part of the international organization Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc.
Our fundraising events, Cabin Fever and the Secret Garden Tour help fund local service projects including domestic violence services. We award grants to women to help upgrade their employment status and to further their education, and to youth, recognizing their contributions to their homes, schools, and communities. Each year we distribute proceeds from our fundraising efforts to non-profit organizations serving the needs of women and girls in Saratoga County.

Awards and Grants Each year we give out the following AwardsandGrants. Please email any questions and completed forms to SiSaratogaAwards@gmail.com.
Women's Opportunity Awards: Established in 1972 to assist women with primary financial responsibility for their families to obtain skills training and education necessary to improve their employment status and standard of living for themselves and their families. The awards may be used for any costs associated with their educational efforts, including tuition, books, child care, and transportation. Deadline is December 15, 2011. Violet Richardson Award: Recognizes young woman ages 14- 17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. These are activities that make the community and world a better place. Ruby Award: for Women Helping Women: Honors women who have worked to improve the lives of women and girls through their professional or volunteer work. Deadline is December 1, 2011. For details view the Ruby Nomination Form.
Funding available for local organizations: Soroptimist International of Saratoga County (SISC) gives grants to organizations that serve the needs of women and girls in Saratoga County. Grants are typically awarded for programmatic, start-up, or capital projects. The appication deadline is January 31, 2012. The Secret Gardens Tour features a fabulous mix of creative in-town spaces, lovely English country gardens, and inspiring perennial beds designed around fountains, fish ponds and woodlands.
